We’re sad to report today that Brad Houser of Edie Brickell & New Bohemians has died after suffering a stroke. He was 62 years old.

Edie Brickell & New Bohemians performed “Stubborn Love,” from their latest album on the Tonight Show recently. It is so great to see the band once again, including hearing Brad Houser’s work.

Edie Brickell and New Bohemians have released a new album called “Hunter and The Dog Star”. The record, which marks their fifth studio effort, is once again anchored by bass heavyweight Brad Houser.

Back in January, I discovered (late) that Edie Brickell and New Bohemians had a new album out. I immediately bought the LP and spin it regularly. I especially love the work of bassist Brad Houser on the album. Here’s another clip from their appearance at the WFUV studios, and another song from their album, “Rocket.”

Reverend Guitars and New Bohemians bassist Brad Houser have teamed up once again for a new signature bass called the Basshouser Fatfish 32. The 32-inch scale bass features a semi-hollow body and set-neck construction with a raised center section.

2018 marked the 30th anniversary of Edie Brickell and New Bohemians’ Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars.
