Bassist Leonid Vorobyev and his band Leonid & Friends loves Chicago. So they decided to do a tribute “one of the greatest bands in the world” with this cover of “25 or 6 to 4.” And they nailed it.

Karl Clews took Donny Hathaway’s classic “This Christmas” and arranged it for solo bass. Happy holidays everyone!

Jimi Hendrix’s “Manic Depression” has one of the coolest bass and guitar lines ever. Here’s an awesome version of it by bassist Audun Ramo, who adds some upright slap to the mix.

Miki Santamaria teamed up with bassist Anna Sentina and drummer COOP3RDRUMM3R to put together this cover of David Guetta’s “Dangerous.” Miki handled the arrangement on this, which features plenty of bass goodness.

Jono Burgess sent us this video of his duo with vocalist Sophie Aked performing a tribute to the late, great Leonard Cohen. “This was the first song Bravo Victor performed together back in 2015,” Jono shared. “In honor of the amazing musician who wrote it, we decided to film our version of it.”

Ivo Schot has released the fifth video in his Fortheloveofbass series, and it may be my favorite. This time the bassist teamed up with Dutch singer-songwriter PHOS (AKA Eveline Vroonland) to cover the James Blake song “Retrograde”. Schot covers the harmonic elements with his bass and a full pedalboard while PHOS pours her syrupy vocals overtop.

Federico Malaman joined vocalist Marco Venturini in the studio to record their own version of “At Last.” The iconic tune was made popular by Etta James in 1960. We love the what these two did with the song, including Federico’s jam at the end.

Karl Clews always impresses with his all-bass covers. This time around, he gets down with the Bee Gees “Stayin’ Alive”. Bonus points for the apparel too.

Zander Zon took the theme from the action-adventure game “The Last of Us” and turned it into a solo piece for fretless bass. I’m not familiar with the game, but this theme by Gustavo Santaolalla – and reimagined by Zander – is some great music.

BassPlayerAdam knocked us out with his medley of Jaco Pastorius tunes. He asks, “Can you name all the songs?”

The last time we saw Diego Tarantino, he took the Pat Metheny tune “Better Days Ahead” and turned it into a lead bass arrangement. Diego just sent us his latest, where he applied his skills to the Stevie Wonder tune, “Sir Duke”. Diego nails the lead line and throws in a terrific solo on his ’72 Fender Jazz.
