About three years ago, Jesús Rico Pérez shared a cover he did of Michael Manring’s “Come With Me, My Love”. Manring was impressed. Jesús has a new Manring cover, this time performing “Blue Orleans”, which appeared on Manring’s 1989 album, Toward the Center of the Night.

Zander Zon has tackled something new in his latest video – his first ever video game theme. In this video, Zander plays his solo bass arrangement for the theme for the game “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim”.

Bassist Paulo Paulelli and vocalist Rosa Passos took the stage at Cafe 939 and performed this amazing cover of the Antonio Carlos Jobim tune “Só Danco Samba”. So good.

Cigir Kazimoglu sent us this video of him performing Victor Wooten’s most excellent tune, “U Can’t Hold No Groove.” The video even caught the eye of Vic on Facebook, who said “Very nice! I like it!” That should say it all.

Diego Tarantino shared this video with us, where he took the Pat Metheny tune “Better Days Ahead” and turned it into a lead bass arrangement. A few things struck me about this performance: Diego’s smooth playing, how much fun he is having, and how one of the greatest albums is on display behind him.

Simone Masina shared his latest video with us, featuring his duo with Angelica Lubian known as Peekaboom. “This is our new cover, the brand new hit from Adele,” he shared. “I had this idea in my head to make a cover using the double bass as a multi-percussion kit… so we did it!”

Kike Mora shared this video of him performing a solo bass arrangement of The Beatles’ “Yesterday.” We couldn’t think of a better day to share this video than today, which is Paul McCartney’s birthday.

Bassist Kinga Glyk stunned us all with this excellent cover of a cover of “Tears In Heaven.” The original is by Eric Clapton. Kinga’s all-bass performance is a cover of the one by Jeff Berlin.

Bassist Ben Titus sent in this awesome looping arrangement of the Imagine Dragons hit “Radioactive”, and I’m glad he did. He gets a gorgeous tone from his six-string and creates a perfect pad with his chord voicings.

Eduardo Machado sent this video to us, and it knocked me out. Here’s the duo of Eduardo on bass and Gabriel Grossi on harmonica doing their own unique version of the Jaco Pastorius tune, “Three Views of a Secret” – one of the greatest compositions of all time in my book.
