We’re sad to report that another icon of the electric bass has left us. ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill passed away in his sleep, the band stated on their website. He was 72 years old.

ZZ Top has just announced a massive North American tour for 2021/22 that will mark the Texas trio’s first shows since February 2020. It will pick up where they left off – celebrating five decades of rock and roll.

A few days ago, The Howard Stern Show shared a video from their vault featuring a 2013 appearance by ZZ Top. The clip starts with some background on “La Grange”, before Dusty Hill and the guys kick in to an extended version of the tune.

Get out your cheap sunglasses, because the ZZ Top documentary “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and streaming.
