The Zappa Band will be back on the road with a headlining tour in June. The band consists of Frank Zappa band alumni Mike Keneally and Ray White, Robert Martin, and Scott Thunes. They’re joined by Joe Travers and Jamie Kime.
In what seems to be a prog lover’s dream tour, King Crimson has unveiled the “Music Is Our Friend” tour. The outing will see the band accompanied by the California Guitar Trio for the first half of the tour and The Zappa Band for the second half.
After unveiling the lineup last month, King Crimson and the Zappa Band have revealed the details of their summer tour. The groups, anchored by Tony Levin and Scott Thunes, will be focusing on the East Coast with four Canadian dates to close out the run.
King Crimson has announced a new North American tour for 2020 called “We Paint Electric Rhythm Colour.” The six-week outing will see the iconic prog band joined by the Zappa Band, which includes alumni from Frank Zappa’s various bands.
Frank Zappa will once again grace the stage this year with the Bizarre World of Frank Zappa tour, which will feature a hologram of the late composer alongside his former band members, including bassists Scott Thunes and Arthur Barrow.
