We featured bassist Felipe Gomez a couple of weeks ago in our Reader Spotlight. Since then, Felipe reached out and shared this video with us, featuring some bass with slide. “I did this video soundtrack for my upcoming documentary, about playing my bass on the Arctic,” he shared. This is some amazing bass to go along with his amazing story.

Andy McKee’s performance of “Drifting” has been viewed millions of time on YouTube and elsewhere. Now bassist Dmitry Lisenko has shared his solo acoustic bass guitar version of McKee’s tune.

Over the years, Ian Pettersson has offered some great video suggestions to us. Now he’s shared one of his own: a solo bass tribute to Prince. Here’s Ian’s take on Prince’s hit, “Kiss”.

Jules Dozer sent us this video saying “this is my friend Carlos Sanxes, a professional bass player living in Norway but originally from Spain!” “Hijo Del Viento” is an original composition written by Sanxes, “as a token of appreciation for the work and legacy of my friend and inspiration Carles Benavent,” the bassist shared.

Zander Zon is back with another stunning arrangement, this time covering the theme from Game of Thrones. I feel as though I’m the only person on the planet who doesn’t watch Game of Thrones, so after I listened to Zander’s arrangement, I went back and listened to the original.

Norwegian bassist Svadah sent me this “Rainy Day Bass Groove” on what happened to be a perfectly rainy day. “Took my bass out in to film a bass groove I made a little while ago on a typical rainy day in Bergen,” he wrote on Facebook. “Really loving the result, check it out! Solo bassist Jesús Rico Pérez is back with a brand new video. This one is different than ones we’ve heard from the past, but equally strong in the composition and performance.

Bassist singer-songwriter Scott Varney is back with a video for his song “Carry On.” Besides stellar bass playing, the song has poignant lyrics that he dedicates to “all those who have lost.”
