Frank Zappa will once again grace the stage this year with the Bizarre World of Frank Zappa tour, which will feature a hologram of the late composer alongside his former band members, including bassists Scott Thunes and Arthur Barrow.

Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones has announced he’ll be performing on March 28th at the 100 Club in London for a special charity event. The concert will be with a new trio comprised of Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore and drummer Steven Noble.

After spreading the funk for five decades, the legendary George Clinton has announced the details for his final tour. The “One Nation Under a Groove” Tour will be the singer’s last outing though his band, Parliament-Funkadelic, will continue to carry the torch.

John Mayer has announced a healthy round of North American tour dates to follow his spring outing in Australia and Asia. Pino Palladino will once again join Mayer on the tour.

Tony MacAlpine has hit the road on his “Electric Illusionist” Tour, and it promises to be a killer show. The guitar virtuoso will be joined by drummer Gergo Borlai, guitarist Emil Werstler, and bassist Steve Jenkins.

After an initial tour last year, Bob Weir and Wolf Bros have announced they’ll once again be embarking on a full U.S. tour. The Grateful Dead guitarist and vocalist is joined by percussionist Jay Lane and bassist/producer Don Was.

The Who have announced they’re working on a new album, which will be their first in 13 years, and they’re going on tour to support it. Bassist Jon Button, who has worked with The Who for the past few years, will once again join the band.

Consider The Source has announced their first leg of 2019 tour dates. The champions of sci-fi Middle Eastern fusion music will begin with an appearance at the Winter Werk Out Festival in Columbus, Ohio to kick things off. As always, bassist John Ferrara will be melting faces along the way.

Jam fans get ready: Phish has announced a 26-date tour for this summer. The band, anchored as always by bass great Mike Gordon, will kick the trek off June 11th.

Umphrey’s McGee bass player Ryan Stasik has a new band called Doom Flamingo, which debuted in 2018. Band member Ross Bogan sums up the Synthwave band by saying, “We just want to make people dance. It’s a ritual.” The band has announce tour dates and a new single.

Bass powerhouses Frank Bello and David Ellefson have a new album with their project, Altitudes & Attitude, called “Get It Out” coming this month. Now they’ve announced a string of concerts to coincide with its release.

After touring with his power trio for years, guitarist Adrian Belew has announced a tour for 2019 with a new quartet, which includes Julie Slick. The outing will be in support of a new album, “Pop-sided.”
