Bill Laurance and Michael League have been playing together for over 20 years in Snarky Puppy as well as other ventures. Last year they teamed up for a duo album and now they’ve followed it up with "Keeping Company," which features Laurance on piano and League on oud and fretless acoustic bass.

The Bad Plus has returned with “Complex Emotions,” marking the band’s second effort with the new quartet lineup of bassist Reid Anderson, drummer Dave King, guitarist Ben Monder, and saxophonist Chris Speed.

Brazilian bassist Sérgio Bartolo has released a cool new EP called “Galaxicografia,” which tells an unusual story in an instrumental form. The bassist and composer, known for his work with bands like Karnak and Funk Como Le Gusta, took inspiration from a story his grandfather wrote.
