Joe Dart was another busy bassist in 2019. As usual, he was a part of Vulfpeck, with an album, a Madison Square Garden concert, plus the Fearless Flyers, and more. But the biggest news was the announcement of his Ernie Ball Music Man signature bass.
2019 Reader Favorite Bassists – #3: Tal Wilkenfeld
2019 was an exciting year for Tal Wilkenfeld. Tal released her much-anticipated solo album, “Love Remains.” Tal supported the release with a tour, which produced a handful of videos along the way. This landed her at the #3 slot this year.
2019 Reader Favorite Bassists – #4: Nathan East
Nathan East is one busy cat. We featured some incredible videos of Nathan over the course of 2019, as well as the news about him playing on Ringo Starr’s latest album. As a result, Nathan lands at the #4 slot for this year’s list.
2019 Reader Favorite Bassists – #5: Pino Palladino
Perhaps the busiest man on the bass scene, Pino Palladino was featured on several new albums this year. And as is the case with Pino, readers responded with a lot of clicks, landing him at the #5 slot on this year’s “Reader Favorite Bassists” list.

What can you say that hasn’t already been said about John Paul Jones? An all-time favorite for many of us, Jones has been featured many times over the years on No Treble. JPJ made this year’s “Reader Favorite Bassists” list, at the #6 slot.

Has there ever been a year Victor Wooten didn’t make the annual top 10 list? I don’t remember one. Vic had some exciting news to share in 2019, as well as some of his incredible videos, placing him at #7 on this year’s “Reader Favorite Bassists” list.

Tim Lefebvre was a busy man in 2019. After leaving the Tedeschi Trucks Band in late 2018, the bassist was part of a variety of projects, including signing on with The Black Crowes in November. He lands at #8 on the 2019 “Reader Favorite Bassists” list.
