Last night I was browsing our huge collection of videos. One that caught my eye (and ears) was Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen’s “When You Get Back.” So I looked for more and found this one of the band performing “Mo Hippa.”

Leonid & Friends continues to expand their covers, and as always, they nailed it. Leonid Vorobyev and the band take on the Chaka Khan and Rufus tune, “Ain’t Nobody,” in honor of lead vocalist Ksenia Buzina’s birthday.

Episode #7 of Cory Wong’s Q&A videos just dropped last night, and it is so funky, thanks in large part to Sonny T. Cory titled this video “Can You Play in Odd Time Signatures?” After the jam, the band chats about their favorite tunes and more.

I’ve been spinning Lari Basilio’s “Your Love” quite a bit lately. Here’s the video for “All To You,” which features Leland Sklar’s tasty bass lines backing up the band that also includes Vinnie Colaiuta and Ester Na.

First Circle is an impressive band that does some fantastic Pat Metheny Group covers. They filmed this one in Montreal in March, with the band taking on one of my favorites: “Last Train Home.”

We recently shared a video from the archives of Faces performing “Stay with Me.” Richard Tofts and Steve Boisen recommended we check out the isolated bass and drums clip from the tune. Here’s Ronnie Lane and Kenney Jones great work on the tune.

Martin Miller has a new video out, and this time the band is joined by guitarist Lari Basilio for a cover of Derek and the Dominos’ “Layla.” Bassist Ben Jud kicks off the vocals before the tune kicks into higher gear.

Zander Zon is back, and this time he’s tackling his favorite Metallica tune. Check out this incredible solo bass performance of “The Unforgiven.”

In August, we shared this incredibly popular video of Tim Starace working through Rush’s “La Villa Strangiato” on bass, keys, and pedals. YYNOT just shared this video of the band performing the tune live at Pala Casino on September 3rd.

We recently lost jazz great Ramsey Lewis. Ramsey has always been one of my favorite players. In this clip, the trio performs an excellent rendition of the Seals & Crofts classic, “Summer Breeze,” with Cleveland Eaton holding down the bottom.

From “Live from the Dome part IV,” here’s The Main Squeeze performing the Jimi Hendrix tune, “Little Wing.” Rob Walker is rocking the double bass on this one to kick this one off before switching to bass guitar (and then taking a sweet solo).

Julia Hofer is back with a new video. In this one, she breaks down the excellent bass line by Kelsey Gonzalez on John Legend’s new tune, “Strawberry Blush.” The transcription is included, so grab your bass and follow along.
