Flea Joining Thom Yorke for Live Performances

Thom Yorke and the new bandFlea will be teaming up with Thom Yorke on October 4th and 5th at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles.

“In the past couple of weeks I’ve been getting a band together for fun to play the Eraser stuff live and the new songs etc… to see if it could work!” Yorke said, via Radiohead’s Dead-Air-Space blog. “We don’t really have a name and the set will not be very long cuz ..well …we haven’t got that much material yet! But come and check it out if you are in the area. We’ve also got locals Lucky Dragons playing.”

Along with Flea, the unnamed group will feature Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich, REM collaborator Joey Waronker and Brazilian multi-instrumentalist Mauro Refosco. There has been no word of additional performance dates for the group, though Flea is scheduled to return to work with Red Hot Chili Peppers in the next few weeks.
