Mike Watt’s Floored by Floor Announces Debut Album
Punk legend Mike Watt’s supergroup project, Floored by Four, has announced that they will be releasing a self-titled debut album, due out September 28 on Chimera Records. This will be their first recording together, a little over a year after their first live performance. The other band members include Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, former Cibo Matto keyboardist Yuka Honda and drummer Dougie Bowne.
Though the group has not released any new audio clips, they claim their influences to be Booker T, Can, Captain Beefheart, Miles Davis, Sonic Youth, and Sun Ra. You can, however, hear Floored by Four’s take on Funkadelic’s “Maggot Brain” from their Central Park debut via a video on YouTube.
Watt will also be on tour this summer in Europe with Iggy and the Stooges. You can check up on tour dates on the Stooges’ website.
