Ron Carter: “All Blues” 40th Anniversary Edition

Ron Carter: All Blues, 40th Anniversary EditionSony Masterworks Jazz is celebrating the 40th anniversary of CTI Records, the jazz label founded in 1970 by producer Creed Taylor. The label is releasing several CTI classics, including Ron Carter‘s 1973 release, All Blues.

The album has been remastered from the original two-track analog tapes and packaged in a softpack sleeve, to replicate the original LP’s gatefold packaging. Carter is joined by Joe Henderson on tenor sax, Roland Hanna on piano and Billy Cobham on drums. Surprisingly, this is the first CD issue available in the U.S.

This recording helped propel Carter in Down Beat‘s Readers’ Polls, where he was voted Bassist of the Year in 1973, 1974 and 1975.
