Simon Fitzpatrick: “One Summer’s Day” Solo Bass Performance

I’ve not yet had the pleasure of meeting Simon Fitzpatrick in person yet. Until I do, I’m not going to be sure he’s actually human.

Once again, Simon turns in an impressive solo bass arrangement, this time taking on the tune “One Summer’s Day”, from the movie Spirited Away.

  1. My eyes started getting heavy at the end there (and that should be taken as a total compliment). Such CLEAN playing, nice and smooth. I don’t know the film that it was taken from, but definitely lots of emotion behind it. Very nice job, Simon!

  2. Nice to hear someone treat the bass in such an orchestral way. Beautiful choice of composition too.

  6. Simon is a bad ass!

  7. To me it sounded more like a guitar piece than a bass piece……and i mean that in the best possible way. Thanks for that.
