Tech N9ne Announces Band of Psychos Tour with David Pastorius

Tech N9ne Band of Psychos Tour 2014Almost one year ago, David Pastorius blew everyone away with a nasty playalong with Tech N9ne’s “Questions.” That video and his subsequent videos caught the rapper’s attention, leading to some work together. Now Pastorius will be hitting the road with Tech N9ne on his fall “Band of Psychos” tour.

The outing, which will be Tech N9ne’s first tour with a live band, will also feature guitarist Tyler Lyon and drummer Alien Warr. Performances kick off on October 26th in San Bernadino, California and work their way around

“I’ve always had rock inspiration and influence in my music,” Tech N9ne stated in a press release. “Whether it was ‘Riotmaker,’ ‘Little Pills,’ ‘Straight Out The Gate’ with Serj Tankian, putting a band together and hitting the road just felt like it was always inevitable. This is a chance to augment my show and go super hard on stage with some incredible musicians I really look up to. My fans are going to have a blast!”

Pastorius cites Tech N9ne as an influence to his rhythmic style. “He does a lot of double-time over half-time kind of stuff like I do [which is] very machine gun like,” he told us in an interview. “He raps like I play bass, and I play bass like he raps. It’s funny because I’ve listened to a lot of him and he’s a vocalist that’s actually influenced some of my rhythmic phrasing. I don’t sing or rap, but I just mean technique-wise.”

WoW – that’s great for David. This gig is right up his alley. I’m sure more good will come his way, especially after more exposure from gigging with TechN9ne. Congrats David!
