David Piggott: Unbroken

So much can be said with just a bass guitar. Here’s a great example of that with David Piggott’s “Unbroken,” a song he wrote for his wife. Piggott uses some crafty measures to create a beautiful flow of notes, with some strings backing him up for good measure.

David, I absolutely loved this piece! Complex enough to be interesting, without being showy or too technical. Bravo.

Thanks for watching. And yes you get it. This was really hard to work out and play. The fact that you hear music and not just technique is great. Music always comes first:)

  2. That is a lovely pic of music!! Thanks for sharing!

  3. I hope your wife enjoyed it :-) It’s beautiful!

  4. That Muckleroy bass isn’t too shabby, either. Sounds great, David.

Very nice piece and nice bass, I like the natural wood look and maple neck.
This is what I wanted but was forced to change due to inconsistencies in the model I paid for so had to upgrade to a standard J. bass Lake Placid blue, its nice but wish I had held out for sunburst.

  6. wow! what a beautiful composition!

  8. Real nice work on this one,David??

  9. I have NEVER commented on ANY post on the Internet in 15 plus years, but this beautiful song made me create a user on WordPress just to say:
Amazing! Really heartfelt, perfect balance of technique applied to pure expression of feelings, not an inch of “show offness” or shredding.
I REALLY wish I could hear more stuff by this composer/musician (not just bass player).
It made me remember Michael Hedges, which I miss immensely!!
    God bless, my friend!
