Phil Collins Taps Leland Sklar for New Tour
Phil Collins has revealed he is coming out of retirement to perform in a tour he’s calling “Not Dead Yet Live!” next summer. The title, which is a play on concerns about his health, is also the title of his new autobiography that comes out this month.
Collins has once again tapped bass master Leland Sklar to handle the low end for his trek. The bearded bassist has worked with the former Genesis on and off for several decades and played on several of his hits. (Check out some of the stories here.) The rest of the band will include guitarist Daryl Stuermer, keyboardist Brad Cole, and percussionist Luis Conte. The singer’s 15-year old son Nicholas Collins will be on the drums.
The tour is set to take place in June 2017 with several dates at three European venues. It starts with a five-night residency at London’s Royal Albert Hall, followed by runs Koln’s Lanxess Arena and Accor Hotels Arena in Paris.
