Fodera Reveals Masterbuilt Yin Yang Hybrid Bass

Fodera Masterbuilt – Yin Yang Hybrid Bass

Fodera revealed their fourth and final Masterbuilt bass for the year, and it’s incredible. The Masterbuilt Yin Yang Hybrid combines two signature instruments to pay tribute to their respective owners: Victor Wooten and Anthony Jackson.

“Not only are these two artists pioneers in their craft, but also in instrument design through our collaborative relationship,” the company writes. “It was because of Anthony’s relentless pursuit of sonic perfection that led to the line of Presentation basses and ultimately our patented Hybrid bass design. Additionally, Victor’s line of Yin Yang instruments has become an iconic part of our product line opening up a myriad of creative option and aesthetic combinations for players. The Masterbuilt – Yin Yang Hybrid brings together both of these worlds and combines it into one of our most technically challenging Masterbuilt builds.”

In mixing the designs, Fodera built the new bass with a four-inch thick alder hollow body and toneblock with a three-piece red oak neck and ebony fingerboard found in the AFJ Presentation II. Its hand-carved holly and ebony top is the same style used on Wooten’s first Yin Yang Deluxe, with the design continuing on the back and back of the headstock. Other features include a 36-inch scale, a Fodera/Duncan dual coil pickup, a custom locking titanium bridge, and Hipshot Ultra-light tuners.

Fodera’s Masterbuilt Series is limited to four instruments per year, each of which is what described as the pinnacle of what their shop can produce.
