Jack Bruce is performing at Hippiefest this weekend, in Clearwater, FL.

Return to Forever and bassist Stanley Clarke continue to get rave reviews, as their tour winds down.

Dave Holland is helping families in New Haven, CT, performing a benefit concert on September 21.

The Levine Report has a nice feature on Gerald Veasley, who is enjoying one of his best selling albums to date, Your Move.

Jazz bassist Charlie Haden will be (temporarily) switching to bluegrass, at the Roots of American Music Festival on August 24 at the Lincoln Center in New York.

Jack Bruce is once again fueling speculation that Cream may reunite, and possibly even tour.

All About Jazz wasn’t crazy about Victor Wooten’s band’s performance at North Sea Jazz Festival, but liked his solo performance. Pat Metheny’s trio, with Christian McBride on bass, was deemed “superb”.

Chicago residents can now dress like a rock star, thanks to Pete Wentz, Fall Out Boy’s bassist. Wentz started selling clothes online a few years ago and decided to open “Clandestine Industries” in Wrigleyville.

Bass Player magazine’s Bass Player LIVE! is happening on October 27-28, in New York City. Bass clinics will be presented by Steve Bailey, Oskar Cartaya, Stanley Clarke, J.D. Must be the year for bass players to go on tour with their famous fathers. The latest buzz is about a Van Halen tour happening in September, with 16-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen “laying down the law”.

An all-new, all-bass internet radio show has just hit the virtual airwaves. Bass Talk with Abe & Lane, a show with “more bass than Spinal Tap’s Big Bottom“, is broadcast each Sunday night.

AC/DC bassist Cliff Williams says nothing is confirmed regarding the rumors of a 2008 AC/DC tour and CD release.

All About Jazz offers a favorable review of Dear Miles, Ron Carter’s upcoming tribute to Miles Davis.
