Primus Brings Claypool Gold to Chicago’s Salt Shed With Frog Brigade and Sean Lennon
Primus brought Les Claypool’s Claypool Gold tour to The Salt Shed in Chicago on June 3rd for a night of bass-heavy psychedelia, off-kilter grooves, and cross-project collaborations.

The evening featured sets from Les Claypool’s Frog Brigade, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, and Primus, offering a broad look at Claypool’s creative universe. Sean Ono Lennon joined Claypool for the Delirium set, while members from across the night returned during Primus’s encore for an expanded “Southbound Pachyderm.”
Primus’s set included “Harold of the Rocks,” “Jilly’s on Smack,” “My Name Is Mud,” “Tommy the Cat,” and “Over the Electric Grapevine,” plus a tour debut of “Spegetti Western.”
From Frog Brigade’s jam-fueled opener to Delirium’s surreal psychedelia and Primus’s unmistakable finale, the Salt Shed show captured Claypool at his most inventive, theatrical, and groove-driven.
