We need a pocket bass player who's not afraid to play some badass pop/indie/soul music. You need to be ready to go on the road tomorrow if needed.
We have a fast growing following, management and a drive to go all the way, so if your looking for a few gigs stop reading now......This Is A Commitment!

Looking for a bass player who is creative and open minded, driven by the sound of psychedelic music.
We are trying to form a band that carries a philosophy much like those from the past yet with the intellect and technical advances of todays melody. So far our theatre consists of a guitarist who time travels back and forth to different dimensions of reality using his pedals like a wond, placing magic spells. A lyricist/keyboardist who has been known to tap into the minds of fortune tellers and flip their subconsciousness inside out... and lastly a drummer who has never been seen yet bangs harder than the drummer boy himself, and if you close your eyes now you'll feel the breeze of his bass kick.
We are deeply influenced by bands like, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Led Zep, The Mars Volta, Blonde Redhead, Bunbury, Portishead, International Conspiracy Theory, The Bronx, Midnight Juggernauts and Sid Barret. Our Bass player must know how to "play" the bass, interpret what he/she hears then spit it back out with growl of a lion and the finess of a snake. A bass player who can improvise yet carry a solid backbone melody.
If you are interested on a magic carpet ride, consider this your flight attendant.

Soft rock of the 60's and 70's have material, but if you prepared, a plus. OLD SCHOOL MOTOWN, don't anyone know that? And soft rock, some blues, but not all blues. FUNKY, and R&B. I live in the Highland Park area. Please try to be local. It's located between Downtown LA and Pasadena. Can you read music, SING? Also a plus too! Please be available to rehearse during the weekdays maybe weekends, more weekdays between 2 and 6. -

I am in the search for a good blues/classic rock bass player that really knows there stuff. Somebody that is dedicated, has the right equipment to really jam, can improvise really well, and very nice cool person to be around. Age doesnt matter to me. Its all about the music. My inspirations are Jimi Hendrix, Robin Trower, Cream, and many more. Im also looking for a bass player who is influenced by Jack Bruce, John Paul Jones, Noel Redding, Billy Cox, and more. This isn't a paying position or anything. I just want a good cool friend to really get down and jam some blues with.

So, we need a new bass player. We have shows and an EP coming out soon. You need to know about or at least be down with places like The Smell and other DIY places. We have a lock out and practice one or two times a week at Bedrock Studios is Echo Park. Last members of Paul' group received world tour, cash, and all expenses paid. They originally started playing for only paid gigs, we do NOT pay for rehearsals.

The cello is most closely associated with European classical music, and has been described as the closest sounding instrument to the human voice.[2] The instrument is a part of the standard orchestra and is the bass voice of the string quartet, as well as being part of many other chamber groups. A large number of concertos and sonatas have been written for the cello.
Among the most well-known Baroque works for the cello are J. S. Bach's six unaccompanied Suites. The Prelude from the First Suite is particularly famous. From the Classical era, the two concertos by Joseph Haydn in C major and D major stand out, as do the five sonatas for cello and pianoforte of Beethoven, which span the important three periods of his compositional evolution. Romantic era repertoire includes the Schumann Concerto, the Dvořák Concerto as well as the two sonatas and the Double Concerto by Brahms. Compositions from the early 20th century include Elgar's Cello Concerto in E minor, Debussy's Sonata for Cello and Piano and unaccompanied cello sonatas by Zoltán Kodály and Paul Hindemith. The cello's versatility made it popular with composers in the mid- to late 20th century such as Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Britten, Ligeti and Dutilleux, encouraged by soloists who specialized in contemporary music (such as Siegfried Palm and Mstislav Rostropovich) commissioning from and collaborating with composers.
Today the instrument is less common in popular music, but was commonly used in 1970's pop and disco music.[citation needed] Today it is still sometimes featured in pop and rock recordings, examples of which are noted later in this article. The cello has also recently appeared in major hip-hop and R & B performances, such as singers Rihanna and Ne-Yo's performance at the American Music Awards.[citation needed] The instrument has also been modified for Indian classical music by Nancy Lesh and Saskia Rao-de Haas.[3]
