Chris Wyse Channels Lemmy on “Ace of Spades” With Hollywood Vampires’ All-Star Lineup

Hollywood Vampires have shared a new live video for Motörhead’s “Ace of Spades,” and bassist Chris Wyse absolutely gets his moment in the spotlight.

The performance was captured during the band’s 2018 appearance at the Montreux Jazz Festival with an incredible lineup featuring Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, Tommy Henriksen, drummer Glen Sobel, keyboardist Buck Johnson, and on bass Chris Wyse.

For “Ace of Spades,” though, Wyse gets to be Lemmy. He takes the lead vocal while digging into one of the most iconic bass parts in rock history, bringing plenty of grit and attitude. It is no small assignment but Wyse does a great job of capturing the spirit of Lemmy without making it feel like an impersonation. The video is the second preview from the upcoming Hollywood Vampires at Montreux Jazz Festival.  The live album arrives digitally on August 14 with physical editions arriving the same day in the UK and Europe and October 16 in the United States.
