Krist Novoselic Launches New Band

Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic has had several projects over the years, and now he’s unveiled a new one. His new group, Bona Fide Band, features himself on bass with Screaming Trees drummer Mark Pickerel, vocalists Jillian Raye and Jennifer Johnson, and guitarist Kathy Moore.
Novoselic shared details of the band on his Deep River Dispatch blog. The group was assembled to draw people to the Cascade Party conventions so that the political party could be recognized as a bona fide party according to Washington State laws.
The bassist said they are playing mostly Giants in the Trees and 3rd Secret songs. “We include a Screaming Trees number and, shall I say, a couple of covers of covers,” he added.
Bona Fide Band drew more attention at their recent shows for performing Nirvana covers, including “Love Buzz” in Kurt Cobain’s hometown of Aberdeen, Washington.
Their shows for June are done, but they’ll be performing a handful of dates in July.
