Joe Perry Reunites with STP’s Robert DeLeo and More for New All-Star Tour

Joe Perry Project 2025

Since Aerosmith canceled their farewell tour last year, the individual members have been putting their own projects together. Bassist Tom Hamilton has Close Enemies, which has released a few songs and has a tour scheduled for the summer and fall.

Guitarist Joe Perry has just announced a run of dates with his longstanding Joe Perry Project, which will feature a new all-star lineup with members of iconic rock bands.

Perry brought on fellow Aerosmith members Brad Whitford and Buck Johnson as well as Black Crowes vocalist Chris Robinson. The rhythm section will be that of drummer Eric Kretz and bassist Robert DeLeo from Stone Temple Pilots.

This isn’t the first time DeLeo has played with Perry. He was recorded on the guitarist’s 2023 album Sweetzerland Manifesto MKII, not to mention performing with him in the Hollywood Vampires with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp.

“Well … it’s time to let the music do the talkin’ again,” Perry wrote in his announcement. “I’m really excited about the JPP line up this year!!!! Most of these guys played with me at the Roxy in L.A. at the debut event for my latest solo album [Sweetzerland Manifesto] in January 2018. They’re all busy as hell but thankfully they’re able to carve out some time for this run.”

Perry then added that the set lists will include his favorite Joe Perry Project songs as well as tracks from the STP, Black Crowes, and Aerosmith catalog.

The tour kicks off on August 13th in Tampa, Florida and will spend 10 days on the road. They’ll head up into Ontario, Canada for a pair of dates before dropping back into New England. Things finish up at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York on August 23rd.
