Watch The Police’s Newly Released 1986 Giants Stadium Concert
This one’s a time capsule. The Police’s full concert from Giants Stadium in 1986 just dropped on YouTube, and it’s a big one.
The show was part of Amnesty International’s Conspiracy of Hope tour and turned out to be the last time Sting, Stewart Copeland, and Andy Summers played live together before their reunion twenty-one years later. They didn’t make a big deal about it that night. They just showed up and played like a band that had nothing left to prove.
You get the hits. Message in a Bottle. King of Pain. Every Breath You Take. Roxanne. But the real goosebumps hit when Bono joins them for Invisible Sun. And if you stick around for the finale, it’s a full-on moment. U2 steps in and they all close with I Shall Be Released.
It’s raw. It’s charged. It’s everything you want from a band walking off at full strength.
