Mudvayne Release First Song in 16 Years as Ryan Martinie’s Bass Roars Back

Back in May, Mudvayne got fans excited by announcing a tour to celebrate 25 years of their groundbreaking album, L.D. 50. That tour is just around the corner, but the band has just riled fans up again by releasing their first new song in 16 years.
“Hurt People Hurt People” features the band’s signature sound, including Ryan Martinie‘s monstrous bass attack, as singer Chad Gray opines on the constant cycle of human suffering.
“‘Hurt People Hurt People’ has probably been around since the beginning of man,” he says about the song. “Certainly longer than the phrase ever existed. The endless cycle of projecting our pain onto others. I think I wrote this song as a reminder to myself to break the cycle. We create our own suffering, our own hurt. It’s time for us to create self-love and let go of the pain. It was never ours to begin with.”
Check the song out and listen for Martinie’s snarling bass tone:
“Hurt People Hurt People” is streaming now on Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more. Mudvayne’s upcoming tour with Static-X will kick off on September 11th in Iowa. See below for their full tour dates.
