“The Voice of Rock” Glenn Hughes Releases “Chosen” and the New Single, “My Alibi”

Glenn Hughes Chosen

Rock icon Glenn Hughes has returned with Chosen, which marks the “Voice of Rock’s” fifteenth solo album and his first since 2016’s Resonate. Hughes, who was a member of Deep Purple’s legendary Mark III and IV lineups,
shared a visualizer for the track “My Alibi.”

“From the start of my career, all the way through, to the present moment, I’ve always had a strong desire to write groove orientated songs,” he said of the single.” It’s who I am, and I firmly believe that grooves are extremely relevant in all genres of music…”
-orienHughes lays out the groove with a snarling, overdriven bass tone while belting out the lyrics. Check out “My Alibi”:

Chosen is a personal reflection from Hughes. On the nine-year gap between solo albums, Hughes explains that he only writes and records when he has something to say. He has stayed active with other groups since 2016, but the new album is all his own.

“When writing ‘Chosen,’ I went back to my life drawing board, writing about the human condition, love, hope, faith and acceptance,” he says. “I write about how I feel on the inside and not externally. My life is lived from within, in the present moment. It’s an album of soul food, and I’ve never been so grateful, right here, on planet earth. Music is the healer!”

Chosen is available now on CD, vinyl and as a digital download (Apple Music, and Amazon Music). Glenn Hughes will be supporting the record with a massive tour across Europe and South America. See below for his full dates.
