Jackson RR-B IV Bass, MonoNeon’s “Stereo,” and More: Weekly Top 10 (Sep 20–26)

Welcome back to No Treble’s weekly recap of all things bass.

Our top story this week was the introduction of the limited edition Jackson RR-B IV, a four-string bass built on the asymmetrical V body designed by guitar legend Randy Rhoads. Once relegated to a rare custom shop offering, the production model has a 21-fret neck, a black gloss finish with white pinstripes, and a sincle EMG 35DC active humbucker situated near the bridge.

This week we shared a boatload of amazing videos, and at the top of the heap was a killer groove from MonoNeon. The bass phenom performed his song “Stereo” during a session for Nord. As Jody shared, “The phrasing is wild, the groove is slippery, and the tone is pure MonoNeon.”

Next up, Ryan Madora shared a new lession in her Keep It Groovy column. the four-fret arpeggio warm up gets your fingers moving while also introducing chord shapes in a fun 3/4 groove. Other highlights this week include the new Spector NS-Icon Bolt-on Series, our Bass of the Week, and great performances from Les Claypool, John Myung, Lemmy, and more.
