Supergroup of Belew, Levin, Vai & Carey Capture King Crimson’s 80s Era on BEAT LIVE

Last year, the supergroup of Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Steve Vai, and Danny Carey teamed up for a project called BEAT, which celebrated the music of King Crimson’s 1980s era. The band sold out 65 dates across North America and took the show to South America in 2025.
The band’s incredible energy is now available for everyone to enjoy in a new album and concert film called BEAT LIVE.
“The performances feel like both a celebration and a masterclass, with fearless musicianship meeting timeless, challenging material that continues to inspire generations,” a press release explains. “Mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain and mastered by Emily Lazar, BEAT LIVE captures the electricity in the room as these four virtuosos push each other into thrilling, unexpected territory night after night.”
Levin recreates all of his bass lines from his time in King Crimson on the albums Beat, Discipline, and Three of a Perfect Pair on the electric bass as well as the Chapman Stick. Even after forty years, he still plays “Elephant Talk” with as much electricity as he did in the 80s.
BEAT LIVE is available now on CD/Blu-Ray, vinyl and as a digital download (Apple Music, and Amazon Music).
