The Stray Cats Return to Late-Night TV with Lee Rocker Ripping on Upright Bass

The Stray Cats stopped by The Tonight Show to perform their classic “Rock This Town,” and Lee Rocker absolutely tore it up on upright bass.

The performance featured the original lineup of Rocker, Brian Setzer, and Slim Jim Phantom, and marked the band’s first live late night television performance since 1990. More than three decades later, these three still have that unmistakable Stray Cats sound.

Rocker is a total badass here. He is slapping the upright and driving the tune with his signature style from beginning to end. Setzer has said that the combination of Gretsch guitar, acoustic bass, and stand up drums is what keeps drawing him back to the Stray Cats. Watching this performance, it is easy to hear why.

This one is worth cranking up.
