NAMM 2026: Aguilar Supercharges Octamizer and TLC Compressor with DLX Upgrades
Aguilar had plenty to show at the 2026 NAMM Show, including two new pedals: the Octamizer DLX and the TLC DLX Compressor EQ. As part of the DLX line, both models are described as an expanded evolution of their respective predecessors.
The Octamizer DLX is an octave pedal that’s powered by Aguilar’s DSP engine to “faster, more natural tracking that responds directly to playing dynamics and remains stable even on extended-range basses.” The octave-down section remains the same control set as the original Octamizer with Octave Volume, Octave Filter, Clean Level, and Clean EQ controls. It has added flexibility now as the clean signal can be fully muted for pure sub-octave tones. Two distinct filter modes expand the palette: A Mode delivers a classic sweep with more synthy textures, while B Mode has a decidedly vintage tone with more grit and character.
“For the first time in the Octamizer lineup, the DLX introduces a dedicated octave-up engine. Tuned specifically for bass, this new voice avoids the harshness and latency often associated with octave-up effects,” Aguilar writes. “Simple volume and filter controls allow players to shape tones ranging from subtle octave doubling to a more pronounced, guitar-like presence.”
Three footswitches let you quickly engage the clean signal, octave-up, and octave-down.
Similarly, the TLC DLX Compressor EQ builds on the TLC Compressor with what Aguilar calls a simple philosophy:
“Control dynamics first, then enhance tone,” they write. “The result is transparent compression paired with broad, musical EQ in a compact, pedalboard-friendly format suited for both stage and studio use.”
The TLC DLX has Threshold, Attack, Release, Ratio, Output, and Blend controls for shaping the dynamics. An LED gain-reduction meter along the bottom of the pedal gives a visual cue as to the amount of compression. The new pedal notably adds a 3-band EQ section. “Broad, boost-only Bass and Treble controls enhance the instrument’s natural character, adding fullness, clarity, and presence without harshness. Used alongside compression, the EQ helps bass tones sit comfortably in a mix while remaining expressive and musical,” the company shares.
