Billy Talent Channels Rush Energy on New “Limelight” Studio Cover

Canadian rockers Billy Talent have released a studio cover of “Limelight”, and it lands as a thoughtful nod to one of their country’s most influential bands, Rush.  Frontman Benjamin Kowalewicz leans into the vocal with a tone that sits surprisingly close to Geddy Lee’s. It is a strong fit for the band and keeps the spirit of the song intact.

On the low end, Jon Gallant carries the track with a Fender Jazz Bass, locking into the groove with clarity and punch. The tone feels right at home on this tune, offering that articulate midrange presence that defined the original.

It is a great cover that respects the original.
