Watch Scott Devine, Danny Sapko, and Charles Berthoud Build a Three-Bass “Take On Me”
Scott Devine, Danny Sapko, and Charles Berthoud got together for a Scott’s Bass Lessons challenge to learn A ha’s “Take On Me” and turn it into an arrangement for three basses. The catch is that they have essentially no preparation, so we get to watch them work through the song and figure out their parts together.
The trio brings plenty of variety to the session. Berthoud plays his Schecter CB 4 signature bass, Sapko grabs a Rickenbacker, and Devine holds down his part on an F Bass. It is fun to hear the arrangement take shape as all three bassists find their own space in the tune before putting it all together.
