Kiesel Unveils the Antares Bass With Darkglass Electronics

Kiesel Antares Basses

Shortly after releasing the Antares guitar model, Kiesel Guitars has unveiled a bass version. The Antares Bass was “created to rival the Aries,” they write.

“Defined upper cutaways, elongated sharp horns and a deeply offset body maximize the metal aesthetic. Paired with the Darkglass™ preamp, it is the ideal companion to its guitar counterpart,” the company writes.

The Antares Bass is a five-string that comes standard with an alder body, carbon-fiber-reinforced maple neck, and 14″ radius fingerboard. The body’s sleek angles are bolstered by the pickguard, and Kiesel adds a unique feature for balance.

“To offset any possible neck dive, the body features a 1.3 lb, removable counterweight made out of stainless steel,” they share.

Kiesel offers two pickup configurations: a pair of JVA single coils for J-Bass tones or a JVA single coil and humbucking HB combo for fatter sounds. They are fed into a Darkglass Electronics preamp featuring a push/pull active/passive switch, a pickup blend knob, and a stacked concentric bass/treble knob.

The Kiesel Guitars Antares Bass is open to order now starting at $2,099. Kiesel offers plenty of customization options.
