Metallica’s M72 Tour Roars Into 2027 With 12 New Stadium Dates
Metallica’s upcoming residency at Sphere in Las Vegas is sold out, but fans will have more chances to see them next year. The band has revealed a new batch of M72 tour dates for 2027 that will take them around the U.S. and Canada with support from Limp Bizkit and Avatar.
The M72 tour cycle began in April 2023, and since then they’ve performed the 99 shows in 26 countries.
“Of course, we’ll have the same unique stadium production at mid-field in-the-round, with the Snake Pit in the center of the stage providing a complete 360° view of the show,” the band writes. “The festivities kick off on May 8, 2027, in Vancouver, Canada. This time around, we’ll be playing single shows, visiting a mix of NFL/CFL stadiums, college stadiums, and the homes of both men’s and women’s soccer teams. We’re covering a lot of ground from Buffalo all the way across the country to San Diego and many points in between, wrapping up in Salt Lake City on June 19.”
Of course, the iconic metal band is anchored by bass heavyweight Robert Trujillo. The band dedicates the song to late bassist Cliff Burton, who co-wrote the piece for the 1984 album Ride the Lightning.
