Watch Royal Blood Tear Through “Swallow the Bomb” on Jools Holland

Royal Blood recently appeared on Later… with Jools Holland, where Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher delivered a blistering performance of “Swallow the Bomb.”

We shared the song’s official video last month, but this live version puts the spotlight on what makes Royal Blood such a fascinating band for bass players. Kerr handles bass and vocals while creating a sound big enough to fill the space normally occupied by an entire guitar section with Thatcher going crazy behind the kit.

“Swallow the Bomb” was the first song Royal Blood wrote for their upcoming fifth album, Dead Company. Kerr has said its fast, heavy direction helped establish the tone for the record.

The duo also performed “Ten Over Ten” during their Jools Holland appearance.

Dead Company arrives November 6.
