Avid Releases “Scorch” Music Notation Software for iOS

Avid ScorchAvid has released their first foray into the iPad app world with Scorch, a sheet music application powered by their Sibelius music notation software engine. Scorch allows users to playback, adjust, and buy sheet music from publishers as well as community members via iTunes.

The app allows you to play whole scores or individual parts one at a time. You can also transpose keys, change instruments, or convert music to and from tabs including settings for 5 and 6-string basses.

In addition to working with the music, Scorch has a Music Stand mode, that allows for easy reading by “turning pages” as the song goes on.

Avid Scorch is available now from the App Store with a limited-time intro price of $4.99. On July 31, the price increases to $7.99.
