Dean Markley Introduces Helix Bass String Series
Dean Markley has introduced the Helix String Series, including the Helix NPS and SS sets for bass.
The new strings are made with a patent-pending hyper-elliptical winding technique that creates a tighter wrap and more mass while also sealing the strings without the need of a coating. Increasing the string mass, the company explains, makes a fuller tone and more windings help to give a smoother feel and brighter tone.
The Helix NPS Bass String set features nickel plated steel. The SS, of course, stands for stainless steel. Both sets will be available in 4 or 5-string sets, with Light, Medium Light, and Medium gauges. Both the Dean Markley Helix NPS and SS Bass String Sets have MSRPs of $49.95, with street prices expected closer to $24.99.
