Bass Legend Jerry Jemmott Releases Eclectic Album with All-Star Lineup
If you love R&B, soul and jazz bass you know and love Jerry Jemmott, who popped up again on national TV recently backing Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin on The Late Show With David Letterman.
A two-time Grammy winner, Jemmott was discovered by saxophonist/bandleader King Curtis, gained fame as a session player in the 1960s and started a solo career in 1978. Now, he has joined with a group of fellow all-star musicians to create Addiction, which is credited to Jerry Jemmott & The Kingpins.
Jemmott, of course, handles the bass duties throughout. Other artists on the record include Mike Finnigan, Guitar Shorty, David Garfield, Dr. John Altman, and Steve Ferrone. It even features members of the Kayapo Tribe of Brazil. You can check out a detailed, track-by-track list of artist credits here.
Addiction is available for download at Bandcamp and iTunes.
