Jonathan Scales Fourchestra: Lone Wolf

If you haven’t caught on, I’m a big Jonathan Scales Fourchestra fan. The combination of steel drummer Scales, bassist Cody Wright and drummer Phill Bronson gets such a tight yet exploratory sound.

Here’s the band performing “Lone Wolf” at a concert in Fairfield, Connecticut earlier this year. Wright kicks things off with some beautiful artificial harmonics before moving into the groove. Each member gets their time to solo but it’s their constant interaction that brings the song to life.

In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast. Kevin appreciates all genres of music, from R&B to metal and everything in between. Connect with Kevin on Facebook and check his performance schedule on his website.
