Scott Varney: Wanting and Waiting
Scott Varney has a knack of writing and performing tunes with a great, chill vibe.
The talented bassist recently decided to submit a performance of one of his recent songs to NPR for their “Tiny Desk” series.
“The only rules were you needed to record an original song at a desk (any desk),” Scott told us. “The weather has been a little less than desirable with rain and freezing temperatures so all of my ideas for shooting a video outdoors kept getting crushed. We have been building a new shed in the backyard and weather has been keeping that process slow as well. So what I decided to do was to setup a few lights and all my equipment in our little unfinished shed and record at a little tiny desk… a tune about not putting off your dreams. I found the song very fitting along with the weather trying to put a damper on all of the ideas and plans I had (finishing the shed included).”
We hope NPR is paying attention.

I’d give it a 10 out of 10. I’d like to perform the song with my acoustic duo.
