Electro-Harmonix Introduces the Bass Mono Synth Pedal
Electro-Harmonix has unveiled the Bass Mono Synth, a new pedal that offers 11 different bass-specific synthesizer styles: Laser, X-Fade, Acid, Cosmic, Sub, Growl, Wub, Unison, Twin, Spectre, and Oblivion.
“The Bass Mono Synth was designed to work on bass guitar without any modifications, special pickups or MIDI implementation. Its intuitive layout makes it easy to use,” the company writes.
Once you set the type of synth, there are four controls for adjusting your sound. Dry allows you to dial in some of your dry signal. Sens sets the sensitivity of the synthesizer to adjust to your playing, while Synth controls the volume of the synthesizer sound at the output. “With the CTRL knob the bassist can adjust a key parameter for each of the 11 synth types,” EHX adds. “It varies depending on the preset and provides extra “tweakability.” There is also an EXP input that lets the player control an entirely different parameter in real-time with an expression pedal.”
A Preset footswitch lets you save your favorite setting for each of the 11 settings. Check out the pedal demo to hear the possibilities:
The Electro-Harmonix Bass Mono Synth was debuted at the 2019 Winter NAMM Show and will be shipping this month with a street price of $123.50.
