Olivier Babaz is ending 2019 with a bang. He’s just released a new album called Fragments, which is the first release on a new label he’s launched called Midnight Cafeine Music.
“We’re launching a new Label in Montreal for all things bass & Kalimba and other creative outside the box creations,” Babaz shared.
“C.lymao” is the first release from Fragments. It features Babaz rocking the double bass and kalimba at the same time with percussionist Patrick Graham similarly managing several instruments. If you close your eyes, it sounds like a small orchestra performing.
In his time with No Treble, Kevin has met hundreds of amazing bassists and interviewed icons like Jack Casady, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Marcus Miller, and more. He's a gigging bassist performing jazz in Northern Virginia and bluegrass with The Plate Scrapers up and down the East Coast.
