Isaias Elpes Releases “Lua” EP, featuring Abraham Laboriel

Isaias Elpes: LuaIsaias Elpes has returned with a new five-song EP called Lua. Born in Brazil and currently based in Los Angeles, the bassist/composer weaves a variety of styles and genres that harken back to his musical beginnings.

Elpes first got his start as a classically trained guitarist before nerve damage made him take a break from music. He took up the bass to help a friend’s band out and found his new passion. From there, he moved to L.A. in 2011 and studied under Abraham Laboriel. Lua features Elpes on bass, guitar, and percussion, but it also features his old mentor Laboriel on the track “Sol”.

“This album reminds me of my beginnings, spending a lot of time writing songs on my acoustic guitar when I was young,” says Elpes. “I hope my new compositions will bring people joy and heart; and that they can close their eyes and simply feel.”

You can hear Laboriel laying down the foundation for Elpes on “Sol”:

Lua is available now as a digital download from iTunes and Amazon MP3.

  1. Minas
  2. Sol (Feat. Abraham Laboriel)
