Andy Robertson Publishes “The Artistry of Anthony Jackson”

The Artistry of Anthony JacksonAnthony Jackson’s incredible bass playing is the subject of a new transcription book called The Artistry of Anthony Jackson. Written by Andy Robertson, it offers ten detailed transcriptions of the six-string pioneer’s bass lines with artists ranging from Chaka Khan to Steely Dan to the O’Jays.

“Spanning a career of more than 4 decades in the music business and credited with the development of the 6 string contrabass guitar, Anthony Jackson is cited as one of the most complete musicians of our time,” Robertson writes. “Quite often referred to as ‘The bass player’s bass player, Anthony Jackson’s list of credits with an entire cross section of artists and styles is nothing short of incredible!”

The Artistry of Anthony Jackson features a forward by Melvin Lee Davis. It’s available now directly through Bassment Publishing.
