The Immediate Family, Featuring Lee Sklar, Release “Can’t Stop Progress”
After dropping their U.S. debut EP last fall, The Immediate Family has returned with a follow-up release called Can’t Stop Progress. The five-song collection features all originals written by the band’s all-star lineup of Danny Kortchmar, Waddy Wachtel, Russ Kunkel, Steve Postell, and Leland Sklar.
Once again, the music draws from the rock singer-songwriter tradition, which the group of studio musicians perfected in the ‘70s, and the blues. The sole live track, “Machine Gun Kelly”, has shades of reggae in the mix and includes a short yet sweet bass solo by Sklar.
