Esperanza Spalding on NPR’s Piano Jazz

In November 2008, Marian McPartland hosted bassist Esperanza Spalding on her Piano Jazz show. The session was part interview, part performance by Esperanza and her pianist, Leo Genovese.

During the broadcast, Esperanza offers a look into her background and draw to music, starting at the age of four, through her time at Berklee in Boston.

The full session runs about an hour and can be found at NPR’s web site.

Perfect for a Sunday afternoon listen.
