Ashdown Engineering Revamps the Triple Shot Drive Pedal

Ashdown has revamped the Triple Shot for 2023. Originally introduced in 2019, the super high-gain bass overdrive pedal now sports a new layout featuring the company’s signature VU meter.
The Triple Shot splits the incoming signal into three frequency bands labeled Dark, Medium, and Light that then feed into three distortion generators. Each band has a “Roast” knob for setting the level before being recombined into a full signal for the output.
“It is therefore possible to retain and enhance the low-end frequencies of your bass sound with a thick and chunky overdriven tone, enrich the top-end with high-gain trebles — or take the two extremes and mix them together to harvest a vast selection of distinct sonic qualities,” Ashdown writes.
When the Roast knobs are rolled all the way off, the pedal can also function as a simple 3-band EQ.
The Ashdown Engineering Triple Shot is out now for $206.
