Aguilar Amps offering Oskar Cartaya and Ruben Rodriguez Master Class

Aguilar Amplification continues their Bass Master Class series with bassists Oskar Cartaya and Ruben Rodriguez leading a Latin Bass Master Class on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The event will take place at Aguilar’s New York City headquarters.

Both bassists are mainstays in the Latin jazz world, and each will demonstrate their approach to playing as well as reviewing the history of Latin jazz. Oskar has performed with Spyro Gyra, Herb Albert, Jennifer Lopez, Celia Cruz, Ruben Blades, Tito Puente and others, and performs with his own band, Cartaya’s Enclave. Ruben has performed with Grover Washington Jr., John Scofield, Mavis Staples, Celia Cruz, Gato Barbieri and Willie Colon, and is credited with revolutionizing the sound of contemporary Salsa.
