Victor Wooten offering free library concerts in L.A. this week

Victor WootenThe ever busy Victor Wooten will be launching his first ever library tour around Los Angeles, California this week (the tour started yesterday and runs through the 23rd). Wooten will be performing for library goers and talking about his own book, The Music Lesson.

Admission to the events is free. RSVP at the Los Angeles Music Network’s web site.

Appearance dates & times:

  • Wed, Jan 20 (4:15 – 5:15pm) at Studio City Library, 12511 Moorpark Street, Studio City
  • Fri, Jan 22 (3:30 – 4:30pm) at Harbor City-Harbor Gateway, 24000 S. Western, Harbor City
  • Sat, Jan 23 (12:00 noon – 1:00pm) at Northridge Library, 9051 Darby Avenue, Northridge

Victor is presented as a part of the “LAMN Gets Loud in the Library” series, which was launched in 2007 to inspire youth to visit the library and read.

Tess Taylor, president of the LAMN (Los Angeles Music Network) says, “We are thrilled to have someone of Victor’s caliber be the first to tour the Los Angeles Library system. He’s a towering musical talent and author of a book that teaches how to play and enjoy music from the heart.”

    Thanks for the heads up on this, got it about 30 min. before it started in Studio City and made the trek down to it. Was great and highly recommend. Wooten talks about stuff from his book, “The Music Lesson” which I also highly recommend, and played some.
